Four Mistakes Made by Sellers Trying

to Get Their Home Ready for Sale

1.                 Cost doesnt equal value.  If you finished off your basement six months ago for $12,000, the improvement doesnt necessarily add $12,000 of value in the eye of the buyers.  Talk to Jonathan about the improvements that make you money!

2.                 Put your money where buyers will see it.  Examples of good returns might be a fresh coat of paint and sprucing up your front door and entryway.  Dont expect to get as good a return on insulation or new wiring.  Jonathan will tour your home for free and give you a list of profitable improvements.

3.                 Dont over-improve.  The addition of a fifth bedroom to a house in a subdivision of 3-4 bedroom homes may not give you the return you would like.  Use typical improvements for your area as a guide.  Jonathan can explain when you cross the line.

4.                 Most quality home improvements cause a property to sell quicker but not necessarily for more money.  A timely sale will lessen the carrying costs and stress.  Dont underestimate the overall value of smart improvements.  More money, faster sale, lower carrying costs, and more buyers will result when you ask Jonathan for a pre-sale consultation for free.  Be sure before you pay for that improvement!
